Project Description

In this project, the narratives take on a life of their own. We use non-human agents or autonomous processes to help in our design and creative process, parsing and affecting narratives created or hybridized from the first three projects (from your or others projects) or found elsewhere. 

Students experiment with generative techniques, using AI algorithms, randomizing systems, computer code and interactive graphics, in an attempt to create narratives with elements of autonomy, generativity, creating a virtual space (either using VR, or as a desktop explorable space in Unity) with emergent and unplanned outcomes or visual artifacts.  These techniques will interact with a collection of media the student brings to the project, an archive (of personal work, or curated media from elsewhere).

We will explore themes of robotic intelligence, autonomous systems, AI/artist collaborations and emergent systems to make such artifacts. 

Topics explored through this project include: Generative Art, Immersive experiences, Art as Experience, Virtual Space

Platforms: Sketchup (or Maya/Blender) / Unity, selected AI generative system (from the provided collection of projects) or optional Processing/PS.js (if you have coding skills)
